Right before Charlotte and I were released from the hospital yesterday, the attending pediatrican thought that Charlotte may be a little jaundice. She was right, but not overly conderned because her levels weren't too high. We followed up with Charlotte's pediatrician this morning and were astonished to find out that her levels jumped dangerously high. Normally, with levels so high, the baby needs to be hospitalized. However, the pediatrician said that he has confidence in us that we can keep Charlotte at home tonight and take care of her as the hospital would. I was told that I can not nurse her, she needs to be fed formula and she also needs to be in her "glow blanket" continuously until we go back to the dr tomorrow. She will have her blood levels tested at 7:30 tomorrow morning and hopefully she will have had made some progress so that she does not have to be hospitalized. I know that jaundice is very common but the thought of having to leave my baby in the hospital kills me. Please keep Charlotte in your prayers and pray that God works a miracle in her body so she can stay at home with us.
