Remie and I started playing detective the other day because of some suspicious activity going on in the Verougstraete family!
Here are the clues we were putting together:
1. Gretchen has mentioned NUMEROUS times that she wants a baby.
Our Assumption: Gretchen and Javier may be trying to start a family.
2. Gretchen casually tells me that she has cut caffiene out of her diet. Now, anyone who knows her will testify that Gretchen can not live without her morning Mountain Dew.
Our Assumption: Gretchen decided to cut caffiene out of her diet because when pregnant, you have to limit your caffiene intake
3. Gretchen tells me that Javier is planning on visiting his mother in El Salvador this summer but she is "unable" to go.
Our Assuption: Gretchen will be unable to fly due to the stage of her pregnancy
4. We find out that Gretchen invites her parents over for a late dinner after work Friday night. This is very much unlike Gretchen because she works so much that by Friday she is exhausted and wants nothing but to go to sleep early.
Our Assumption: Gretchen and Javier have something important they would like to tell her parents (like being pregnant)
5. Gretchen randomly calls me to see if her and Javier can come "visit" us on Saturday. She said that they just haven't seen us in a while and want to catch up. This never happens because Gretchen and Javier are always very busy on the weekends catching documentaries at the musuem or going to wine tastings.
Our Assumption: Gretchen and Javier want to tell us that she is pregnant.
6. Remie asks his mom how dinner at Gretchen and Javier's went the previous evening and all she can do is smile!
Our Assumption: Gretchen and Javier told her parents that she's pregnant!
Remie and I were very excited when Gretchen finally called to tell us that she and Javier were on their way over for their visit! We couldn't wait to hear the great news because we knew that our precise detective work couldn't have been wrong! They came over, we had a nice chat and..........................................................................................................................................................
ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! We couldn't believe that they didn't even mention having babies even once! The moral of this story is rather simple...when you assume things it just makes an "ass" out of you!
*Gretchen, if you are reading this, please dont be mad. I had to share how silly Remie and I have been the past few days!*

you guys are dorks! Poor Gretchen, though it would be cool if she was pregnant! Maybe you need to lay of the "Monk" marathons!

Nice Vicki...I have to agree with Kathy...you guys are dorks! I know it's hard to believe but we really did just want to see you guys and hang out with Remie David. (Javier especially was wanting to play with his blond baby).
just want everyone to know that our detective work was right and Gretchen is PREGNANT! In your face Kathy!
