Catching Up with Our Family

Wow! Long time no write! Here’s what’s been going on in our neck of the woods:

Remie David is finishing up kindergarten and I am amazed at how much he is learning. He is reading a grade ahead and his math skills are astounding. Remie can figure out math problems in his head without any problem. He could use some work on his handwriting because he still prints pretty messy. I am planning on working on fine motor skills with him this summer so hopefully he can start first grade with improved penmanship.

Charlotte just graduated preschool and will be heading to kindergarten next year. Her graduation ceremony was amazing! I cried like a baby as the teachers read what each child wanted to be when he or she grew up. Charlotte said that she wanted to be a mommy and it just melted my heart! Charlotte was so proud singing two songs at the graduation program and was on cloud nine as she accepted her diploma! What a night to remember!

Isaac is excelling in speech! He now says any word that you ask him to say. He’s also putting 3 words together and talking nonstop! I’m so proud of his improvement over the last year. Isaac is in the middle of potty training. He’s doing really well staying dry both day and night but we are struggling getting him to poop on the potty. I think we are going to have to make a poop prize basket so he is motivated to stop pooping his pants!

Grace just turned 4 months old and is an absolute joy! She’s a wonderful baby, very happy and full of life! I’m still exclusively breastfeeding Grace and she is growing like a weed! At her last well visit, Grace was over 13 lbs! I think most of her weight is in her cheeks and thighs!

Remie sr and I are doing great. We have found a love of local farmers markets and we support our Michigan farmers by trying to buy most of our produce, flowers, honey  and other goods directly from them. It’s a lot of fun making it a family trip to the farmers market on Saturday mornings. The kids like the fresh scones while I love getting to know the farmers a little better. Remie sr’s favorite part is the fresh asparagus!
