Have you ever had one of those clumsy days where you just can't seem to stay on two feet? Today was my clumsy day.
While at church this morning I did the normal routine of dropping the kids off in their children's church. Afterward as I was walking by the nursery my right foot slipped right out from under me and I damn near fell on my face. Stunned, I regained my balance as my pastor's wife, Karen (also 6 months pregnant) came running to my aide. She asked me if I slipped on water and I had no idea what had happened. There was no speck of water or debris on the floor that could've caused me to slip! I shrugged it off to being a clutz.
Fast forward all of 5 minutes...
I'm now in the sanctuary of the church and I am walking toward the "stage" to sing. Something happens and my right foot again slips out from underneath me and I almost bite it in front of the entire congregation. Thankfully Eugene was walking behind me and was prepared to sacrifice his coffee in order to catch my graceful self. I looked at him stunned and said "I have been slipping all day!" Eugene and I giggled and then went on our way.
I was able to stay on two feet the rest of the church service, thank God *pun intended*
Fast forward a few hours...
I'm now at home and we are getting ready to leave to have dinner at my in-laws house. Remie Sr. grabs my shoes (the same ones I wore all morning) and asked if I was planning on wearing those. I said yes and then he sort of laughs and asks "So when did you lose the heel on your shoe?"
WHAT?!
Remie shows me my shoes and says "yea, the heel is broken off your shoe!"
Once again I reply
WHAT?!
I then start laughing hysterically trying to explain my day of slips and near falls and realize that my lack of a heel on one foot is probably the culprit of it all.
But I have one last question, WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND DOESN'T NOTICE THAT ONE FOOT IS 1/4 INCH SHORTER THEN THE OTHER ONE?
