Boob Scarf Tutorial

When I decided to make a boob scarf for my friends I googled "Boob Scarf Pattern" and found nothing. I enlisted the help of Jenna from www.callherhappy.com and my mom. With their assistance, I figured out the best way to make the scarves.

I decided that the length of the scarf should be about 2 yards long. I was able to fit two scarves on each 2 yard piece of material but if you want the boobs to be bigger, you will probably only be able to get one scarf per 2 yards of fabric. I started by folding the piece of fabric in half long ways so that the right sides would be together. I found a circle that would be big enough for the boobs and traced it at each end of the fabric. I then took a yard stick and drew straight lines from circle to circle.

I pinned the fabric together and cut it out. Each scarf will have 2 pieces. I left extra material when cutting so I could use my traced lines as guides for sewing.

I sewed the right sides together, following the traced lines, leaving a hole on each boob. I then turned the scarf right side out.

I found some pink felt and cut out smaller circles to become the aerola (I'm giggling as I type this!) I sewed on a pink button to the middle of the pink circle of felt to look like a nipple.

I turned the felt over and hot glued a small bead on the back. I wanted the bead to make the nipple stick out a bit.

Next I hot glued the nipple to the center of the boob.

I stuffed each boob with a little craft stuffing.

I was going to hand sew each boob shut but that took too long so I got out my handy hot glue gun and glued each seam shut.

Then the boob scarves were complete!

Isn't she adorable?

So glad they turned out! Also, I'm dying as I'm reading this. Everything is so serious and normal until the word boob and areola keep popping up! And, if I was making a scarf, I think I would definitely need more fabric...stupid boobs! Did Charlotte see you make them? Was she dying laughing too?
