A push present (also known as a "baby mama gift" or "baby bauble") is a present a new father gives a new mother when she gives birth to their child. All through my pregnancy with Charlotte, I hinted to Remie that I thought I deserved a push present. He thought the idea was ridicuous but I tried to convince Remie by reminding him of all that I had to go through while pregnant such as bed rest, placenta previa, and gestational diabetes. Furthermore, I was able to deliver Remie David and Charlotte without an epidural and I think enduring that sort of pain derserves some sort of acknowledgment.
Charlotte's birth came and I didn't even think of the push present. I was completely in love with my new daughter and didn't give new jewelry a thought. Then, Monday night, Remie came home from working MCREST and was acting funny. He asked me to stop pumping my boobs for a second (real romantic, eh?). I asked him if I had to because I just wanted to get it done and go to bed! He said yes so I oblidged. He gave me a beautifully wrapped package and said it was from him and the kids. I opened it up and found the most GORGEOUS pearl necklace, bracelet and earrings! He said that he was planning on giving me the present at Charlotte's birth but she came way too early and the pearl set that he had ordered wasn't here in time! I was completely surprised and in awe of the thought that Remie put into this gift! What a wonderful husband I have!
