Took Isaac to speech today like I do every Monday
morning. Today there was a new boy in his class. I hate to say it but I really
dislike it when new kids join his class. Isaac is so shy that any little change
makes him unresponsive to therapy. He gets nervous and won’t even attempt to
speak. Isaac didn’t speak at all until it was snack time and then he was all
about saying “cup” “juice” “cookie” and most importantly “more” to get what he
wanted. Maybe it helped that I had a case of the giggles today. The new
classmate’s name is Russell. Not sure why but that name tickled me. Every time
the therapist would say “Russell” I would start to giggle under my breath. It
reminded me of a silly book that the kids have called “Russell the Sheep”.

At dinner tonight, Remie Sr spilled on himself
and said “damn it” under his breath. Charlotte, who doesn’t miss a beat,
corrected her dad by saying “Daddy you know damn it is a bad word and we aren’t
supposed to say it”. Then Remie David (who is now the utmost authority on
everything) goes into a dissertation about how kids can’t say damn it but
adults can say damn it if they spill something or stub their toe. This is all while Isaac is feeding his dinner
to our overweight black lab and I’m trying to bite my lip so I don’t laugh
hysterically at the situation and encourage more potty talk from my kids.

Remie Sr has to work the next 11 days straight
so if you see any of my precious darlings for sale on craigslist please come
rescue either them or me!

A few weeks ago we had some family pictures
taken. Remie David cried about having to wear purple because “it’s a girl’s
color”, Isaac refused to smile even when bribed and Charlotte, well, she likes
to ham it up for the camera so she did perfectly.

Our thanksgiving was great. Remie Sr had to work
but I was able to make the day special for the kids by making an extra special
breakfast that they refused to eat and then having fun holiday crafts to do
while we watched the parade together. In
the evening we went to my in laws house and had an incredible turkey dinner and
enjoyed the company of Remie’s family.
