Cloud 9

I know it's cheesy but I am blissfully happy today! I had an appointment with my OB this morning and I was really looking forward to hearing my little one's heart beat again! I will never tire of hearing such an amazing sound.

It was a busy morning at the OB and the only exam room they had available was the one with the ultrasound machine in it. Of course while we waited for Dr Gilbert I screwed around with the ultrasound machine trying to see what was growing in Remie's stomach and also pretended that I was going to shove the transvaginal wand up his wahoo. (They should know better then to put me in a room with expensive machinery)

When Dr Gilbert came in we talked a little about my symptoms and if I was consuming enough calories because of all the puking I've been doing. Seeing as I've gained 4lbs in the last month (gasp!) we are pretty sure that the baby and I are getting plenty of nurtrients! Then it was finally time to listen to my sweet groundhog (my new nickname for the baby since s/he is due on groundhog's day). Instead of pulling out the doppler to hear the baby's heartbeat, Dr Gilbert did an ultrasound! She thought it would be fun to see the baby since we were in the ultrasound room anyway! It was so awesome seeing the baby again!!! I can't believe how much it's grown since the last ultrasound only a month ago. Dr. Gilbert took pictures of the baby's face and profile and then we watched as the little thing jumped for joy inside me! I could've watched it wiggle, flip and dance all day! The baby is still measuring about a week ahead of schedule but it's not a concern because my babies are normally on the HUGE side ;)
Here is baby at 11 weeks. You can see it's little skellatore face smiling on the right

Here's the baby's profile. The head is on the right and you can see its body and little arm!

After the ultrasound, Dr Gilbert and I chatted about my desire to have a drug-free childbirth again. She is so very supportive of my passion for natural child birth! She even told me how excited she was to have me in the new holistic birthing room at St John Main. It's so refreshing having a doctor that not only suppports my birth plan but also is excited about it!

Needless to say this appointment was awesome!!! I already feel like I am starting to bond with my 'groundhog' and I get so excited thinking about the future with another baby!
