Church BBQ

Last night we attended the monthly BBQ at our church. It ended up being a night of "firsts" for Remie.

When we were done eating, two of my friends' kids (Michael and Justice) were playing close by in the grass. Remie was really interested in these "big boys" (they are both 3) and kept getting closer to see what they were up to. I told him it was ok to go play with them but I think he was nervous to leave me. Finally, Justice saw Remie standing there watching and said "come over here". Remie didn't budge so Justice came and grabbed Remie's hand and brought him to play with them! It was so cute! I got tears in my eyes while I watched Remie play with his first real friends!

After they were done playing, we decided to take Remie on his first train ride. He didn't look too happy while aboard the train but once the ride was over, Remie did not want to get off. We had to drag him off the seat and then he kept running back to try to get on the train again. We had to teach him the concept of sharing and taking turns by letting him wave "bye bye" to the kids that were taking their turn riding the train.
