About 2 years ago Remie and I submitted an application for a "Career Change" dog through Leader Dogs for the Blind. We lost hope about being chosen for a dog because it had been so long since the application was submitted. We recieved a pleasant surprise this morning when Leader Dogs called us and said that they had an adoptable dog that would like to join our family! The dog's name is Quill. She is 14 months old and a lab/retriever mix! They said that she is a sweetie pie! Remie, Remie David, Darla and I are all going to go meet Quill on Friday morning. If Darla approves, Quill will become part of the family! Yahoo! This puts a wrench in our summer vacation plans because we would hate to leave a new dog with someone she doesn't know. I think that a new family member to love is much more important than driving to North Carolina anyway (sorry mom and dad, you'll just have to travel here)
Here's a picture of Darla right after we got her. Doesn't she look happy to be part of the family? ha ha!

you know we'd be happy to watch the dogs if you need us to :-) So long as we aren't in Mexico!! I'm so excited to get another niece. Love really is more like an ever-expanind balloon than a pie...just because there's someone new to love doesn't mean you love the ones you've already got any less...your love just keeps expanding - an endless supply!
That poor dog...i forgot you dressed her up in that...poor thing
Can't wait to meet the newest member of the family!!!
